GLASSES!

Well we finally got them. This past Monday Hannah Lu and I went out to Salt Lake and we picked up her glasses, and had a parade of doctor appts. on Tuesday. The Optomitrist put her glasses on and she has been all smiles since. Except I have decided that she can't wear them in the car because she pulls them down and gets the nose pads into her mouth and sucks on them. Of course I then end up pulling over every time she decides to do that. The doctors appts. on Tuesday also went well. At 10:00am she went under general anesthesia for her last hearing test. It has improved since she had the tubes put in but not enough to dodge hearing aids. So that will be our next hurdle. Then at 2:00pm we saw Dr. Carey her genetics doctor. He was just thrilled to see her and thinks she is doing great. Dr. Carey is going to Pennsylvania to present Hannah Lu in a conference. I am excited to see how that goes. At 4:00pm we saw her Opthamologist. He said that her eyes look great! Then we were on our way home. But of course not without a stop at the outlet mall in Park City. Jackson is starting Kindergarten so I had to get a few things for him for school, and they were have such an outrages sale at Carter's I got some fall and winter things for Hannah Lu. It was a busy girls day out and Hannah Lu was an angel.
What? So I have to where glasses. That is what I think she is gesturing with her hands.

SEATTLE

I did it! I flew alone with my 3 children two car seats, stroller, three suitcases and that is not including carry ons. You should have seen the looks that I got as we walked through the airports in Salt Lake and Seattle. The kids did really well. The only peep out of them was Garrett. After we took off, he looked out the widow and then back at me and said,"I don't wanna fall". He closed his shade in the window and was fine until we were getting ready to land in Boise for a medical emergency. So he cried for a few minutes and then fell asleep when we left Boise. Otherwise they did great. So I will do it again! Below are some pictures of our trip and time together with my family!

THE DUCK

Our favorite time on our trip...

We went on the Duck! It was so much fun. The Duck is a 90 minute tour of Seattle, and then you drive into Lake Union. It was so nice out that day you could see everything. Including the house boat that Sleepless in Seattle was filmed on, and the bachelor Jason's house boat. The driver/captain, was hilarious. He played music and wore funny hats and danced the whole time. By the end of the tour even Jackson and Garrett were dancing with Auntie and Poppy. That is one thing that I definately recomend doing if you ever make it to Seattle. My Dad and Shawn, partypoopers of the universe were even jealous!

Uncle Ryan

On the way up to my parents house we stopped and saw my brother and his police cruiser. I was suprised by the boy's reaction. Jackson was nervous and Garrett was gung ho. This may all together be a good thing, and a bad thing. Only time will tell. They are good boys. Uncle Ryan will keep them in line.

My sister April lives two blocks from the Space Needle, so we ventured out and walked up the hill and got onto the monorail. We rode it downtown and walked to the Pike Place Market. They were really busy but they didn't throw any fish. I was disappointed. So they tried to get onto the famous pig but they couldn't balance. We settled standing next to it. Then we went and got some fresh not donuts. They were sooo good. I won't tell you how many we ate. In our travels back to the monorail, we spotted and police officer on a horse across the street from us. The boys loved that. Its not to often that you see that. I don't even think that they do that in Salt Lake. When we got off the monorail, Garrett found a slug that he could climb on. So they both took a turn to ride it. You don't see slugs here either. We had a fun day.

The Monker....

After the Pike Place Market we went and had lunch at Spuds. Yummy! I haven't eaten there since I graduated from high school. A really long time ago. Afterwards we headed up to the troll under the bridge. I couldn't get any cute pictures of the boys and the troll, but if you look closely you can see Jackson in the upper right corner. He wanted to climb on the trolls head, but I said no. It was a little too high. Not to mention that I was standing in the middle of the road to get this picture. For those of you that don't know Garrett is really into monsters. He calls them monkers. So he was excited to see this monker, although hesitated at first to touch it. The boys got a kick out of it. Just so everyone knows that is a real Volkswagon Bug in the troll's hand.

The beach

On Saturday we went to the beach on Whidbey Island by my parents house. It was almost 90 degrees out. Very unusual. Anyways, the water was really warm. It was a lot of fun. Even Hannah Lu dipped her feet in. My mom and the kids built a sand castle, and they also attempted to make a mote but Garrett was sitting on the side lines slowly demolishing everything. so in response Jackson and his cousins stompted the castle down to nothing. as you can see in the pictures Garrett is sitting on his bucket. He would not go into the water. It ws funny, the tide was coming in and of course the water was getting deeper. So when he leaned forward to grab his shovel, his bucket floated out from underneath him. We also met my brother Ryan's girfriend Ashley. I like her a lot, and am sensing a wedding in our midst. We would not have been able to take this trip if it weren't for my Mom and Dad. We had so much fun. Thanks Mom and Dad!

Hannah Lu's blessing day

This is a horrible picture, but we were in such a hurry, and Shawn was nervous and just wanted to get to church. But we finally blessed Hannah Lu. It was important to us that she had the bars off of her face and that things had calmed down as far as appointments and traveling to Salt Lake. This was extra special because Shawn blessed her in Sacrament. The boys were blessed in the Bishop's office. Everyone was thrilled. But I figured that it was the least we could do since the ward has been so supportive with all three of our children. Shawn did a beautiful job on the blessing. I was proud of him. As well as the rest of the family. Nanalyn (Shawn's grandmother) made the dress years ago, and has just been waiting for another great grandaughter, and now including Hannah Lu she is getting three this year. Hannah Lu has truely been blessed. Below is a blessing gift from Auntie Amy and Nani. Amy made this for Hannah Lu. I am so excited to hang this in her room. That is once we flip flop the kids around when Hannah Lu is ready to sleep in the crib.

Happy Birthday Jackson Part I

July 1st, Jackson's birthday, my friend Leesa and I took the kids to the Splash park. We had pizza, drinks, and her girls's choice of BBQ chips. It was fun, and then a storm rolled in and we had to leave. Actually it practically blew us out of the park. I was crunching dirt and grit in my teeth for the next hour. Here are a few pictures from the Splash Park.
Garrett not wanting anything to do with the water, decides he would rather rearrange the lawn chairs

Hannah Lu telling me what she thinks about the whole situation by sticking her tongue out at me

Happy Birthday Part II

Me and the boys, Jackson being silly and saying the sun was in his eyes

Auntie Amy and the boys, Jackson still complaining that the sun was in his eyes, so therefore he could not look at the camera

Nani and the boys

We started our day off at the parade. This has been a tradition since we have lived here. After the parade, we came back to the house had lunch and cake and presents. Shawn had to go to work so we did it all before he had to leave. I explained to Jackson that we were celebrating his birthday three times this year. So here are some pictures of the second celebration. He decided that he wanted a dirt bike cake so I bought a plain cake and crushed oreo's and stuck some dirt bikes in it. I thought it turned out pretty cute. The third celebration is yet to come. We are flying home ( my home) to Seattle for the week.

the whole gang sitting with Auntie Amy

singing Happy Birthday

A card full of money, and a gift bag full of candy from Papa (Shawn's Dad)
cap guns, and new church pants from his Auntie Cassie, Uncle Joe, and cousin Gabriel

a basket of goodies from Nani and Auntie Amy

of course this is his favorite present, from Mom and Dad

my favorite present that Jackson got was from Auntie Amy, she made this. The feather and a few of the rocks Jackson picked up on our camping trip last summer. She kept them and made this picture box for him.

last but not least, SOMEONE got to the cake before I could, or anyone else for that matter
